After the results of student evaluations are received
Father,
As I read the words of my students and their perspectives on the courses I’ve taught,
And as I look at the numbers and percentiles and the ranks,
May Your mighty hand help me discern and learn, reflect and open my heart for change.
Let the praises not bring pride and assurance in my capabilities, as it all comes from You.
Let the criticisms and disappointments not shadow my heart and draw it into thinking my work was in vain.
I bring it all before you, all these words and numbers, and hold them as an offering, the fruits of my labor,
Teaching and forming, sharing and giving.
May I learn from my mistakes.
May I find reason to excel in pursuing to serve You better as I review my courses, my techniques, and my praxis.
May I humble myself as I seek to serve and love my students with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind,
As I seek to love You.
